Art prints
Because it can take a lot of time and effort to choose nice art prints,
some people feel it is not worth the effort required. However, following
these guidelines can help:
• Look for signatures – Art prints that include the signature
of the artist are sure to be more in demand than those that do not.
Often those that include the signature of the original artist are easier
to verify as being authentic than those that do not include the signature
are. It is also true that the pieces of art that include the signature
are also usually worth more money.
• Buy from established galleries – If somebody is selling
art prints at a flea market or on the side of the street, it can be
difficult to find quality prints, even if the seller claims they are.
It is best to deal with established galleries and art houses. Dealers
can also be contacted who do not have a gallery, but still sell prints.
It often turns out that these sellers are able to offer good deals because
they do not have to worry about as much overhead.
• Local art shows – Often starving artists will show their
work in local art shows. These can be excellent places where a person
can look for nice art prints simply because the people who are offering
their prints for sale are willing to take less money than what the prints
are worth. Just because these artists are not yet established, this
does not mean they will not be. Buying from these artists could be like
finding a diamond in the rough when it comes to quality art prints.
